Reopening

When will Life Leisure Barrow Reopen?

Monday 3rd August 2020

What are the opening hours?
The Centre is open as normal

Monday – Thursday: 06:00-22:00

Friday:06:00 – 20:00

Saturday – Sunday: 08:00-17:00

All sessions for our activities are now bookable so please check your online account and book on before coming to the center.

Hygiene

What additional cleaning and safety measures are being put into place?
Our staff have been busy preparing and making important changes as your safety is our highest priority.

Some of these changes will be the one-way system around our facility, clearly labelled work out stations, sanitization stations, sanitizer and wipes to wipe down the equipment, limited capacity in some classes to maintain social distancing and increased cleaning hours throughout the centre.

Has the centre been deep cleaned?

 Yes, Life Leisure Barrow Park has been deep cleaned ready for reopening

Are members required to wipe down machines and equipment after each use?
Yes, we request that all member use the sanitizer sprays and wipes available in the gym to wipe down the machines and equipment they have used.
Should I Bring a Sweat towel?
No. We kindly ask you not to bring a sweat towel to the gym or classes to help limit any risk of the virus spreading and that all members only use the wipes and sanitiser available in the gym and class studios.
Should I bring a Mat?
Yes, if you have your own exercise mat then please bring it.  If not, we do still have mats available and these will be sanatised before and after each class.
Will hand sanatizer be available for members?
Yes.  Hand sanatizer is available at Reception and at regular points throughout the building.
Should I wear a mask in the gym?

As of Thursday 24th September, we strongly recommend that all members and visitors to wear face coverings in all circulation areas of our buildings. This includes reception, corridors, spectator areas and toilets. This does not include the gym, sports halls, studios, swimming pools or outdoor spaces, though you may still choose to wear one in these areas if they wish.

We will also be following the government guidance and anyone over the age of 11 years must wear a face mask indoors unless participating in sporting activities

Should I wear gloves in the Gym?
No.  Please do not wear gloves whilst training.  Gloves can harbor a high viral load, with easier transfer to multiple services.  Washing your hands with soap and water and using hand sanatiser before, during and after training is far more effective.

Facility Usage

Will you be restricting the number of members allowed in the gym?
Yes. There is a maximum capacity we are allowed under the government guidelines to keep you our members and staff safe.

If the maximum capacity is reached the online booking system will show as full so please book before you come to avoid disappointment.

Please note that the gym is now located on the ground floor in the Sports Hall and top floor where most of the cardio equipment is based.

Will I have to book to use the gym?
Yes, you will need to book online or over the phone before attending, this is inline with government guidance and to avoid disappointment. Due to relocating the gym area we have a large capacity so this should prevent any disappointment.
Is there a time limit on my visit?
Yes you will be restricted to a 45 minute sessions where we will shut down the area for a full clean after.
Will the changing rooms and showers be open?
Yes, whilst they will be open with social distancing in place we kindly ask you to only use the changing rooms and showers if needed to and ask where possible you come to and leave the centre in your gym kit and shower at home.

Toilet facilities are open and available for use.

Will you have Group Exercise classes available when you reopen?
Yes, our Timetable has only changed slightly and our instructors are ready to welcome you back.  We have fully marked out workout areas to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.  Most of the classes will now be in the Sports Hall with Tai-Chi, Pilates and Yoga remaining in the Studio.  The Spin Bikes have now been moved to the Gym on the top floor to adhere with social distancing.

All Group exercise classes must be booked and only those booked on will be permitted in any class.

Will all the equipment be available to use?
Yes. We have moved all the equipment so that it adheres to the social distancing guidelines.  Please make sure to use the sanitisers available to wipe the machines and equipment after use.
Can Personal Trainers take sessions?
Yes.  Our PT’s will be able to deliver effective socially distanced sessions when we reopen.
How do I book a session with a Personal Trainer?
Please contact the PT directly and they will be able to arrange a convenient time with you.
Is the kids Gym still available and if not what are my options for my family membership?
The kids gym is not available initially but we hope to add this back into the timetable as soon as possible. We will be offering public swim sessions in both pools with the slide in use. We also will have badminton and table tennis available for booking.
Will Pools Be in Use?
Yes our pool sessions will be 45 minutes long and bookable. There will be a different entrance so please follow the directions when you are in the building. We also ask that you come swim ready to reduce amount of time spent on the changing rooms.
Will Swimming Lesson be available again?
Yes swimming lesson will be available but will not start back straight away. Also those currently enrolled will receive an email with full details shortly.
Will Water fountains be in use?
No. To maintain the highest level of hygiene for our staff and members, these will temporarily be unavailable so please bring some waer with you.

Memberships

What will happen to my Direct debit payments?
All members will be sent specific information relating to their future payment please check your emails. If you have any questions email memberships@lifeleisure.net.
I paid in advance for the whole year will the closure dates be added to my contract?
Yes the amount of days we have been closed will be added to the end of your term.
If I’m not ready to return to the gym when it reopens what are my options?
You can freeze your membership by filling out the form sent to all members email addresses. Alternatively email memberships@lifeleisure.net
I’m not yet a member of life Leisure can I Join?
Yes you can join online at any point or you can book a tour of the center online at www.lifeleisurebarrowpark.com

How do I set up or change my membership if I don’t have an online account?

How do I set up a membership for my second child without a second email?

I am struggling to log into my online account to change my membership?
I’ve signed up under my name instead of my child’s

Course Pro Home Portal is saying “Not enough information to register”

Member is on correct membership and needs to wait to appear in Course Pro.  Please make sure you are using your barcode to register not the membership number. This can take 3 working days. 

I don’t have a bar code number to register with?

This is the code on your swipe card.  If you don’t have one please email your pool coordinator who can tell you this.

Can I link my children to the same account on Course Pro

Yes, whilst setting up an account in the HomePortal for one child, you get the option to link any other sibling or family members.  You can also do this at a later date.

What badge is my child on?

The Pool Coordinator has assigned your child to the correct badge and level. Please email 

swimming.barrowpark@lifeleisure.net.

I have 2 children on different badges so I can’t book both children at the same time.

Contact your Pool Coordinator and they can open this up for you on swimming.barrowpark@lifeleisure.net

I don’t want to sign up to a direct debit membership without knowing I can get the day and time I want

Pool Coordinators can give you a list of days & times available for your child’s badge. Please email swimming.barrowpark@lifeleisure.net

I booked the wrong class. How do I change this?
